Ariel Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 They need to show screenshots and vids of the airliners...are they even going to be included in this version of FS Quote
Moderators joeri Posted December 16, 2011 Moderators Report Posted December 16, 2011 tried to register but they ask for a gameaccount looks to me that you wil be paying to fly online on their own service Quote
bobsta63 Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Man, that is so poo!! - I too was watching video's of Microsoft Flight the other night and didn't see one airliner... Like Vanity says, I doubt they are even going to include airliners, it looks as if they are simply going for low altitude VFR only... (hence the attention to landscape detail I suppose) Quote

(hence the attention to landscape detail I suppose) They did the same thing with FSX, they're just showing off the things that can be shown off in screenshots Quote
James142 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 This "simulator" is heading in the completely different direction than most of us flight simmers hoped. They will be releasing this for free sometime this spring. But, you will only be able to fly around 1 island in Hawaii and you only have two aircraft to fly, no World Travel or Orbit airlines (not that I liked them anyway). ALL content will be controlled and developed by Microsoft. This means that there will be no freeware or 3rd party development aloud to be released for Microsoft Flight. The rest of the world isn't completed by microsoft yet. But when it is, Microsoft will offer regions for purchase. This isn't a flight simulator. A Flight Simulator lets you fly anywhere you want whenever you want. This is just a stupid arcade game developed by a greedy company called Microsoft. I guess we will have to see what happens. Kindest Regards, James ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In case your wondering, this is where I got my information: Flyaway Simulation Article : http://flyawaysimula...rosoft-studios/ Microsoft Flight artical: http://www.microsoft...-takes_to_skies Quote
Moderators joeri Posted January 7, 2012 Moderators Report Posted January 7, 2012 I think you are running a bid to fast James. all that you are telling is mostly correct but these things are currently for Beta testing(proud tester ) you are indeed correct that currently its more off a arcade game then a sim but the grapics and stuff are really good but indeed layedout fopr a wide public and not only the hardcore simmer as they will stay with current sims. i am unsure iff you can make these statements so early as i just recived my coppy of msflight the day before yesterday Quote
Tom Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 ALL content will be controlled and developed by Microsoft. This means that there will be no freeware or 3rd party development allowed* to be released for Microsoft Flight. Not necessarily true. The articles cited state "The game will feature its own marketplace, with content regulated by Microsoft." - keyword here being regulated. For all we know they may have invited third party developers to contribute content to the store. Quote
James142 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Well we will just have to wait and see.. Quote
TennShadow Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 PMDG will not be releasing addons for Flight. They posted this on Facebook the other day explaining what happened. https://www.facebook.com/notes/pmdg/some-thoughts-on-flight/315250668514724 Quote
MBrown Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Well I suppose it's not all that bad if you're in the boots of Hawaiian Air Virtual's CEO right about now! The rest of us unfortunately are gonners... Quote
Flightguy123 Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 A family member has connections to the lead guy at microsoft, as far as I know you can buy new regions and planes so in the end it does come to about the regular FSX starting price when it was first released. Hawaii will be a free region in which you can just try it all out. Quote
tutmeister Posted January 10, 2012 Report Posted January 10, 2012 It'll still be an arcade piece of crap. It's the worst flight simulator I have flown in awhile, although it will be great for younger folks to get into the world of simulation. For experienced simmers and realism fans it is a no-go I'm afraid, with or without 3rd party addons. Quote
