Strider replied to VP Flight Operations's topic in Virtual Airlines Discussion
Ahh, stupid IPB forum shortening the url, to stop that, always post the link using the insert link option, it will stop that from happening. -

The link you give, is broken. -
Malaysia Virtual Airlines, is nearly 1 year old, and is going strong. We still have staff positions open click here. We have recently been accepted by Vatsim as a partner VA. We offer flight training to all pilots, friendly staff who are willing to help in all areas. The forum is a great tool available to all pilots to get help, news on the real world MAS,MASKargo,MASWings and Firefly. We accept all new recruits, of all proficency in flight.

Because I changed mine, I was Nightfox, anyway, this is a hobby, and funnily enough, a copy is the highest form of flattery there is. If someone is willing to copy them, means they are good. And I agree with James, it is a bit much to get a laywer involved, a little word via PM would have been a nicer approach. I personnally have had it with all these comments and posts stating so and so have copied us. It is old, and can be dealt with privately, not publicly, as it damges both VA's not just one. Also Ephendi, how about trying to skin the VA, instead of using just the default crystal skin. It would really give your VA a major boost. But good luck with it

It is working for me, it took a while, I removed it, and put it back again, and that seemed to work.

Go to the first post you made, and click edit, you should be able to change the title that way.

I will beta test this, Looks like a really good app.

I often talk to Nabeel on msn, he is a very busy man. I defended Vansers reply, as you were being disrespectful. There was nothing wrong with Vansers reply. If it is such a rush, PM Nabeel, or email him. Personnally, I don't like the way you are trying to get help, People are replying to you, and you are shouting your mouth off at some of us, just because you don't like the reply. You look like a mature man, you should act like it. This is a discussion board. People help and discuss things here, and you are bound to get some replies you don't like, when you do, don't shout at them. As they may have a point. You are trying to keep this topic open yes, but expecting people to reply with a solution to a problem only one person can really fix, is ludicrous. Be patient and you will get your answers. You were also the one to bring up the stats in the first place.

<div class="progress-container"> <div style="<%=flight.percomplete%>%"><%=flight.percomplete%>%</div> </div> That should put the number in the bar.
-
some airports give that amount.
-
Bluemax, if you want people to help you, be respectful. You will not get any help if you give replies like that.

Without going into an arguement, you did express an opinion more then a criticism. But yes, if it is not needed then don't have them. Most people won't even know if it is not working right for them. Unless they are web designers and know that it should be doing something different.
-
Tom, what you are saying is not a criticism, but more of an opinion. I have seen plenty of sites that contain, "best viewed in..." or "We support ...." I just ignore as many others do. Usually most things that are not going to work, don't really make too much of a change to a web site. It is more of a cosmetic item that is not working, but is replaced by a default action, that does the same thing.

I think it is time to lay off the beer for one day James

I think you mean font James

Check the height of it, make sure the height of the nav and the height of the hover match. Also check the padding. Padding can cause it to extend more than it should.
-
.menu li:hover ul{ display:block; You have forgotten to close that. .menu ul{ background: url(http://www.freshjetvirtual.com/lib/skins/premiumseries/images/navbar-bg.png); height:40px; list-style:none; margin:0; padding:0; } .menu li{ float:left; padding:0px; } .menu li a{ background: url(http://www.freshjetvirtual.com/lib/skins/premiumseries/images/navbar-bg.png); color:#FFFFFF; display:block; font-weight:normal; line-height:45px; margin-right:10px; padding:0px 10px 0px 10px; text-align:center; text-decoration:none; border-top-left-radius: 5px 5px; border-top-right-radius: 5px 5px; } the second background image can be removed, you dont need it twice.
-
Yes, in the local.config.php file, there is an option to turn the site to maintanence mode.
-
Tom, depending on where the nav is located, if it is centered or left align as it seems to be in this case, rounded corners and rollover effects can work without CSS3. I don't like the way the rollover effect is bigger then the nav background itself. Looks very sloppy if you ask me. The best viewed, yes should not really be there, I don't think it is lazy as such, but you can fix it with a simple css reset, which should make the site work fine in all browsers. I also think you should use the pagination thing I put a tutorial for for the pireps at least, as it is too long to scroll for some. Also get ride of the splash screen, as the page is large, it isn't at first understandable that you have to scroll down to get to the enter site button. Also it will turn away potential pilots. Your site is what you want potential pilots to see first, not a splash screen that is not clear on what it does.

There is a fix for this, search for it and you will find it, it takes the code from when it worked the last time.
-
You should try using an if else statement to detect if there is data being inserted or not.

Can I Have A Clean Code Of The Pilot Roster With No Hubs
Strider replied to deactivated's topic in Code Snippets
Download phpvms again, go to the core>templates folder, find the pilots_list.tpl file and upload it again, and that should fix that problem. If not run the checkinstall.php maybe something is corrupted. -
The Live Flights board, above it when the page is loaded, the board shows, but bellow those errors.
-
Your live flights board seems to be spitting out an error Warning: file() [function.file]: Couldn't resolve host name in /home/greeceai/public_html/online/board.php on line 81 Warning: file(http://nl1.www.ivao.aero/whazzup.txt) [function.file]: failed to open stream: operation failed in /home/greeceai/public_html/online/board.php on line 81 Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/greeceai/public_html/online/board.php on line 83 You may want to fix that. But it looks good. Also try putting the name of the VA in the banner.
