Found the root cause. The pilot was landing, taxiing and parking....right beside the FS fuel depot!! : As soon as he set the parking brake, it auto filled the tanks. Since that is an internal FS command, it would quite likely be registered before FSUIPC sent the final fuel load. It seems if the final fuel amount is greater than the starting fuel, FSAcars has a bird and figures you must have used millions of pounds of fuel. Just to be on the safe side, make sure to tell your pilots to always park at a gate and not the fuel depot. ;D Chuck CYXU

Quite happy with Bluehost. CPanel and phpMyAdmin makes life so easy. Chuck CYXU

So as I asked in the first post... Chuck CYXU

Actually, it was at the end of last month so I cannot edit the pirep to cause an effect. I had the fuel cost set to $1 for now till we get used to the new system so the fuel usage would have been 921 million pounds. As well, are the fuel costs being applied per pound or per gallon? I am thinking the default cost of $5.10 is a bit much. At around six pounds per gallon, that would make Jet A around $30 a gallon. I know fsacars only reports in pounds or kilos....

Hi Folks, Anyone out there using the MD-11 by PMDG with FSAcars? We had one pilot using it and he quickly ran us bankrupt. The fuel used came in as the following weight... -9.21059e+08 :o As a result, our fuel costs for the month are now over 921 million dollars. Quick question, if I try to edit the finance data table, will this cause me any grief? Secondly, has anyone else seen this behavior before? And if so, have you found a way to correct it? Thanks, Chuck CYXU

Just passing the two week mark of using phpVMS and we are sitting at 63 registered pilots, will likely break 200 flights today and close to 300 hours. Thanks for all your hard work Nabeel, the guys love it!!! Chuck Dickey http://canadianva.com

Look inside your fsacars folder on your computer. There should be a file called sendlogreport.html. Open it up in with your web browser and tell us what is says. There might be a clue there. As well, make sure when you go to do your flight, you use the flight bid and get the flight from VA option in FSAcars. Do not change anything that comes prefilled in. You can change the aircraft type, the flight level or the route. Do not under any circumstances change the.... Departure airport Arrival airport Pilot number Flight IATA Registration Cargo Pax When submitting your pirep, change nothing. Accept the defaults that you are shown. Change any of the things I just mentioned and it will surely fail. Hope this helps, Chuck CYXU

So very close...one last item. Where does FSacars and FSPax get the info from the site? I find if I down the flight into FSacars, the IATA is automatically added to the flight number. As such, it also appears on the Live Flight map. If I can edit out the code from those last two items, we should be good! Thanks, Chuck Dickey Canadian Virtual Airlines

Alrighty then, he says as he rolls up his sleeves, off to work! ;D Chuck CYXU

I already have a rough idea about this, but I have to ask....how much headache are we talking to remove the code from the flight numbers? We only run one VA on this software so having the IATA on the front is redundant. Not only that, but it can be a bit confusing having pilot numbers and flight numbers with the same format. I took a look around the code and I'm not too sure that I am up to the task. :- It would have to edited out of the schedule pages, the pireps, the map and I don't even know what else...yet. Is it possible Nabeel? Chuck CYXU

All better now! ;D Thanks, Chuck CYXU

Hi Nabeel, just where should I put the UTF=8? I have put it in my header.tpl with the thought that this would help, but I am still getting boxes with letters in Firefox and squares in IE. I think it has something to do with how Dreamweaver is saving the pages. If I make an edit to the scedule_results.tpl and save it, things are messed. If I undo the change and save it to the site, it is still messed up. I have to overwrite it with a copy of the tpl that has not been touched. This is what I put in the header.tpl...do I need to put it elsewhere that I am not aware of? <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> Thanks, Chuck CYXU

No worries. ;D While I have your attention though, any idea how I could get the "View Details" and the "Pilot Brief" on the schedules page to open in a new window? I tried putting a "target_blank" in the code but all that did was mess up my encoding. Chuck CYXU

Hi Nabeel, I noticed that the file links in your tutorial section seem broken. No doubt from the site upgrade. Chuck CYXU

Did you have any time to look into this Nabeel? Chuck CYXU

I had no success either the first few times until I resized it to 80x80 pixels and saved it in png format. I think the auto-resize was not working. Chuck CYXU

Hey Dave, check your script. For some reason it is adding an extra EZE to the start of the textfile. Or it could be that the pilot has added the extra EZE just prior to submitting the file. When submitting the pirep, the pop up that comes up to verify the pilot number should have only the pilot number, not the preceding EZE letters. The pilot should not change anything regarding their pilot number in the client side software. Hope this helps, Chuck CYXU

If your pilot is using the ini file that they downloaded from phpvms site, it is more likely a problem on the user side of things. Have the pilot go into their fsacars folder and search for a file called sendlogreport.html. It will open with Internet Explorer. Tell them to open it and find out what it says. I'd be willing to bet that they changed a pilot number somewhere along the line. Pilots look at the report as they are filing it and see that the three letter prefix isn't on the pilot number as they submit it and add it. Chuck CYXU

Changed the permissions on the signature folder to 2777, changed the permissions on everything below that 777...still no joy chief.

After you make a bid, go back to the pilot center and select View my Flight Bids. You should have a link on the right side that says Boarding Pass. Chuck CYXU

I double checked the permissions on the lib folder and it was 777. I also changed the permissions on the signatures folder to 777 and did a regenerate. It updated my latest flight and hours but still did not take into account the transfer hours. I really appreciate all you are doing Nabeel. This is an excellent project. Chuck CYXU

I can confirm that the signature badge is not being regenerated when a pirep is accepted. I just completed another test flight and after the pirep was submitted, there was no change. I even closed Firefox and logged in with IE just to ensure it wasn't a cached page. As well, it does not reflect the transfer hours yet either. Chuck CYXU
