Not sure how I missed it, but I had a white space in my local config file. I rebuilt that file from scratch too. Now I really feel like a dork. Everything is back to normal.
-
I'll have to look in to that for sure. Not sure why it would not be there though.
-
I do have one problem left and can not figure it out. My pilots and airports list and schedules list in the admin panel is now empty. They show up everywhere else on site just fine.
-
Well, I normally always use Dreamweaver MX2004 BUT this time I was in cPanel and decided to edit it real quick while I was there. Lesson learned. I never put the problem together until it happened this time. Both times this happened to me I used cpanel to edit the file. Never again! I just had to rebuild my entire config file. Thanks for taking the time to try and lend me a hand guys. I appreciate it. So a big WARNING WARNING WARNING to all reading this, do NOT I repeat do NOT use Cpanel to edit config files for your site. Ray

Found the problem. About half of the config file was missing. Apparently I can not alter that file ever again using cPanel.
-
Last time this happened, I had to upload a backup of the site to get it to work again. Since the only file I edited was the local_config file, I re uploaded it yet again and still nothing. I'm about ready to call it quits. If it isn't one thing it is another. lol
-
Well, I don't think I have a white space. The site has been fine for months now. All I did was went in to local_config.php and changed false to true for auto accept pilots and then saved it. ANd nothing is being written to my log files or anything.
-
Nothing at all. Pure white pages.
-
Thats pretty much all chineese to me. lol but Ill take a shot at it.
-
Ok fellas. I REALLY need help. I got in to my local config file and set auto activate pilot s to true..... Not hard at all and then I saved. Done deal. Went back to my site, and now all I get are white pages. This is the second time this has happened to me when I edited the local config file. I uploaded a backup file and it did not fix it. Every single page on the website is all white. Nothing more, nothing less. Any ideas?

That error is exactly what it says. The file does not exist. Even though you uploaded it, I am willing to bet it is not where it is looking. If you go and look at the file structure that Simplot has created in the download, you will notice the Screenshots templates in the Core/Templates/Screenshots folder. Notice the difference between that path I just gave and the path from the error? The reason Simpilot put that folder there was because he has no idea what templates everyone is using. So he packs all his great releases in a generic form. So all you need to do in this case is get in to your core/templates folder on your server and move that screenshots folder of tpl files over to your current templates directory and that should fix it.

Yeah how did you solve it? I think since we are a self supporting community, when ever we solve an issue we need to post it so that others may benefit as well. Also, another important thing is what skin were you using? Was it default? Addon? or custom by you? And what version of phpVMS.
-
Roger, was that the problem?
-
That's a good idea.
-
Here you go Roger. Give this a quick try.
-
You know, I have that running on a couple test sites as well as 2 live sites and it woks properly on all of them AND none of them had that file. I wonder if it was a quick file edit we had to make to correct the issue.

I would suggest downloading the fleet module that already exists and tweaking it to your liking. No point in reinventing the wheel. If you don't feel like tweaking that one, grab it anyhow and see how it is coded to run. I am more than sure you will find all your answers in there. http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/1522-fleet-table/

I can't speak for Dave, but when he released this, it was in General form. Meaning, it worked, but as far as modifications go, it was up to the individual Virtual Airlines to do. He since has stopped working on it due to so many requests from so many people for so many different options. However, I always stand to be corrected if I am wrong though. I'll let Dave chime in on this one.

That error came up a long time ago when the file was missing from the package. But I thought that was on version 1 not version 2. Version 2 does in fact have all necessary files. So I would say if you are running v2, it got deleted off your server or as Mark said, is corrupted.

Those are the sql files. You do not put them anywhere. If you are installing airmail fresh, then you need to go in to phpmyadmin via your web hosts control panel and import the sql in to your phpVMS database. If you already have an old version of airmail running, you import the update sql. OR You can open which ever one you need, copy it, and in phpmyadmin, paste it in the query box and run it.

Well, it says Roster in the heading, so I am going to take a wild stab at it and say that it is the Pilots Roster which is not what you are after. I am guessing that you are wanting to change the Newest Pilots block that shows up on the front page. If that be the case, you need to edit the frontpage_recentpilots.tpl file. And that part of the code that you just asked about, that would stay in the code as he gave to you IF you were editing your Roster. That is pretty much a call to the database looking for information. However, the way mine works is, the most recent pilot joined is on top with and it goes on down from there.

Hey upon further review, I only have the original copy. None of the files are fixed or modified, HOWEVER, a few of us got together here a while back and worked on it and updated some stuff. http://forum.phpvms.net/topic/4335-an-old-idea-being-rehashed/page__p__29016__hl__%2Bpilot+%2Bshop__fromsearch__1#entry29016 That link will get you the pilot shop updated file. I modified it even further than what that post suggests, but as I said, I can not find the file right now. I plan on working on this some more this weekend and updating it even further. SO have a go at it now, or wait until this weekend. The choice is yours. Have fun!

Hi Sham. I do have a copy. Let me go dig it up real quick and I can repost. I have been modifying it and fixing a few errors in it. If I can find the file with the good modified files, I will give you that one. Will save much heart ache in the end. Please allow me a few hours to get this done. I have school tonight and wont be able to get to it for a while. Ray

That's looking pretty good. Nice looking site you have going on.

Yeah.... What Dave said. That looks real good.
