Yeah I see what you are saying as far as VA Central goes. So in the end, what will it do for the VA? That is what I am more curious about. And I have to respectfully disagree that at a VA level it would do no good. But we can leave that for another time and place.
-
Would that then only be available from VA Central then? The idea behind VA stock options would allow pilots to buy stock in the VA they belong to. This in turn would put more money back in to the Virtual Airlines account allowing them to purchase or lease more aircraft or what ever. That is IF the VA is running it like a real airline. If it is being run as a free for all and add what you like when you like, then it would not much matter. In all reality, NO airline in the world can start off with hundreds of aircraft and with a small number of aircraft, comes very little routes. This in turn allows an airline to grow as it should. This system would need to be able to take in to account how often routes are flown and how much money an airline is making or loosing. That would control the stock value right? Now once this feature was added to the individual airlines website, I think it would be bad as hell for it to be integrated in to VA Central as well. But how would individual pilot able able to purchase stock from VA central? I may be way off on all this. All this is strictly my own as well as some pilots thoughts. I am very interested to your thoughts Nabeel. And I know nothing about Cake so that leaves me out.

However, using the ACARS (XACARS and FSACRS), is still not figuring up properly. Not sure if it is not converting or what. I thought this was solved long ago. I still have to adjust manually before accepting a pirep.

Sorry Dave. I uploaded the files from the original post in this thread. I forgot about the updated version on page two of this thread. All is well and working fine. Yet another proud, ever so popular blonde moment from Ray.

Hi Dave. I just recently upgraded to the latest beta and I get this once clicking a link with the news module. Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'PopUpNews::popupnewsitem' was given in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxx/core/classes/MainController.class.php on line 218 I have tinkered with it some but no luck with it. I hate to mess with it to much for fear of really messing something up. Prior to the upgrade to beta, I replaced all the popup news files with the standard files from the download from this thread. So they are bone stock files. No Ray interference involved. Any ideas you could throw at a guy?

Now that I know it can be done, I need to learn how to set up and use cron jobs. I have only ever tried to use one one time ever. Was not something I ever needed or was interested in knowing. Now that I know I need to use them, I am in a big old pile of Sh<-----Snip! you get the idea.

What template would that be? My Thunder VA template? If Thunder VA, it is not Brilliance. It is Obsesblue version 1 with some minor tweaks. It is pretty much default out of the box template. The hiding the side area on that template was not so bad compared to hiding the one on Brilliance.

No one has attempted this?

I have made a page on my site for each one of my hubs. I have it pulling stats and pilot info. Now I am curious if we can create a link or something that would work like the schedule search except it would only list the flights to or from that hub. It would be real nice if it knew the difference between the cargo, passengers, or charter flights. That way We could create a link for each kind of flight. Wishful thinking or doable?
-
Hi Tom. I tried that repeatedly on the Brilliance template without good results. Errors kept flying all over the place. I might not have done it right. I got tired of fussing with it and did it my way. The problem with doing it that way and NOT reworking the css is the dreaded sidearea image and blank white space left over on the right side when done. Nothing moves. I pulled it off rather easily using Obsessblue, but Brilliance was a pain in the arse to do the say the least. I hope he can get it to work using the way you suggested, and originally how Simpilot told me too. It is much easier than how I did it.

Yahhhhh hoooo! Pireps calculated ticket prices, fuel costs AND showed the actual amount paid to the pilot for pirep.
-
I ran this update and here is what it said on install. Starting the update... Array ( [0] => ALTER TABLE `phpvms_pireps` ADD `paytype` tinyint(1) NOT NULL DEFAULT '1' AFTER `pilotpay`; ) Update completed! I am getting ready to try a pirep now and see what happens. Oh and I recalculated the pilot payments and it gave all the money back to the pilots it shorted them when I started having all the original issues. So far so good.
-
Sorry Nabeel. This is the current post. I was simply replying to the other one incase them guys were still trying that build. The error above is current.
-
I got the same error [ERROR] The column paytype is missing! The ironic thing is though, pay type IS added to the database in the pireps table. I saw the error and went strait to my DB and looked and it is there. However, none of the numbers still work for me. Updated to the newest release and I got a very major error right from the start. I think a file is missing from a folder.
-
Glad to hear that you got this one solved. Can you please mark your original post as solved? It is just good general practice. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
-
Sorry for the slow reply. I am sure there is an easier way to do this but this is how I did it. I have NO sidearea on any page of my brilliance site except for the front page. I copied the main area in the css and pasted it back in the css. I changes the class from mainarea to main area2 and got rid of the image and widened it up to match the width of the site. Then on every single tpl file there is, you need to add a new div at the top of the page for your new mainarea2. Then close the div at the end of the page twice. So it is like this. <div id="mainarea2"> //Pages content is here on the tpl file </div> </div> Doing it this way, I have to put this code in every single tpl file that shows up to the public on site. So ALL of the tpl files dam near in the core/templates file ended up being put in my Brilliance folder. It is time consuming, but works good.

James after the race is over, I will jump on my pc and tell you what I did to hide my sidearea on all pages but the front page. It is a bunch of work but do-able
-
MY best guess behind this is it is going to allow him to figure out accurate ticket prices and cargo costs. It could really help a VA fine tune their numbers.

Sending a PM now.

Since we have pay adjust built in to phpVMS now, I am wondering if it is at all possible to create a cron job that will pay adjust pilot spay weekly. Like say for example, a hub managers pay is $5k/wk. On a set day, the cron would run and adjust the pilot s pay according to the weekly pay rate. Problem is, if you have many different jobs with many different pay rates, how many crons would be needed and how would it know who to pay what to? I have never been a cron job wizard. What I do not know about them can fill a book. It would be REAL sweet if we can figure out a way to pay the staff their weekly pay and then have it either send them an email or even an AIRMail to let them know the pay has been deposited in to their account.
-
I had thought about this too. Except for now it would have been a manual thing I guess. That actually is what ai was thinking about and it would be really great. I suppose if a pilot registers he or she wanted to fly. If they don't fly within X amount of days then good bye.

My whole entire website was blank. Every page I visited was all white. And as far as the numbers go, before the site blanked out, I did file a pirep and all the numbers were 0 on the pirep except for hours flown and the hourly rate for the pilot (me). I tried to refresh the pilots pay in the maint area and it set everyone back to $0.00 again. So I went and figured I would give the maint template a try. I opened my config file and made the false = true. that is when the site went completely white on me. No matter what I did, I could not get it back. I then uploaded a fresh downloaded copy of the update and uploaded it as I have since day one of using phpVMS. Went to go to the install script, Completely all white page still. SO then I busted out the backup of my site that was rather fresh. A couple days old. I uploaded my backup files, TAH-DAH! I now have a working site again. Even though it is using the V560 database updates. I did fail to get a copy of my most recent database yesterday. Duhhh Ray! I know. Now to get to the even funnier part. Me being me, I create a all new DB, upload the stable vms version and updated to the one I am having issues with, worked as good as could be. Hmmmmmmm Short on disc space for my crappy hosting package, I had to delete it. You have a VERY fresh copy of my database Nabeel. Do you see any reason at all why this would be happening to me? When my site went all white on me, I looked at my DB and could not find anything strange at all. I do however have all kinds of entries in my error log that are bothering me that I need to get fixed.

Here is another reply Nabeel.

Guys I almost shat down my leg. I am not sure what the hell happened but yeah my whole website went to all white pages on me. I just uploaded a backup to my site and it came back online again. Nabeel, is it possible I am getting a corrupt file or something? I am using your link. I think I am going to leave this one be for a while until I can figure out why it is not working for me. This one scared the living hell right out of me.
