bakers11 Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 Alaska Virtual undergoes a new look. http://alaskaairva.net This is of my own creation. The template is the Obsess Blue skin but I did all the editing. Quote
edmundk Posted August 9, 2012 Report Posted August 9, 2012 The background is all messed up. Might want to fix that. The menu bar too. Quote
bakers11 Posted August 9, 2012 Author Report Posted August 9, 2012 If you are talking about the cloud picture I would like to ficd a way to stretch that. The menu bar up top meaning the green and blue? Quote
edmundk Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 No, the main menu bar looks a bit strange when i hover over it. I would suggest changing the background image.. Quote
bakers11 Posted August 10, 2012 Author Report Posted August 10, 2012 Ok, thanks. Thanks for the advice. Quote
freshJet Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Menu bar looks fine but the background is hideous. Get a bigger image, say Alaskan mountains or something or even just a snowy-blue colour. Quote
bakers11 Posted August 10, 2012 Author Report Posted August 10, 2012 Oh how so simple I use to live in Alaska. I think I got just the picture in mind. Quote
edmundk Posted August 10, 2012 Report Posted August 10, 2012 Menu bar looks fine now. That new background still needs changing though. Like he said it looks hideous. Quote
bakers11 Posted August 11, 2012 Author Report Posted August 11, 2012 Ok I changed it again. Better??????????????? Quote
Tom Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 Watching massive images knit themselves onto my screen makes me sad Quote
MBrown Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 Looks like a horror film, big black clouds and fog just waiting for a mad murderer to come jumping out! I think well it doesn't look very friendly or inviting Also a tip perhaps, get a nice image and paste this into the CSS: background-attachment: fixed; background-image:url(img/body_bg.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position:absolute; That should glue the background in place and only the middle bit will move! "absolute" is an invalid value for background-position, so you can omit that line Quote

Can't you do something like this.. background:url(img/body_bg.png) fixed no-repeat; Saves a couple of lines Quote
bakers11 Posted August 12, 2012 Author Report Posted August 12, 2012 Yeah I did that one just for laughs. I changed to some snow capped mountains. but your right it was a little scarry. Quote
edmundk Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 Don't forget to add that css to your styles.css file. Quote
bakers11 Posted August 14, 2012 Author Report Posted August 14, 2012 Is there a way to use a code that locks the backgroung image and the web template moves the template that sits on top of the image. Quote

mischka Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 Hmmm... it looks a bit too much like any of the other 123456789098765432 websites that use the obsessblue skin just my 2 pence! 3 Quote
Tom Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 the other 123456789098765432 websites that use the obsessblue skin 100% accurate Quote
BaRBeR Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 whats the background supposed to be? Quote
Ariel Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 from the looks of it WHICH THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH but it seems like you guys are helping him REDESIGN his whole website!! Quote
edmundk Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 By posting in this forum it usually means they want feedback on their website. Otherwise why post here? I mean were all VA owners so we usually don't join other virtual airlines. I think it would look a lot better with out that fuzzy mountain. That background is just plain disgusting for this website, way too blurry and would probably keep pilots away from your website. Quote
