Hi, one of my pilots is saying that when he starts kACARS and sets up his flight and is at an airport which has add-on scenery kACARS tells him that his aircraft is not on the ground? is there a fix for this or is it a problem on his machine? Thanks Scott

Hello, I have a small Problem with kACARS: If a Pilot is logged in phpvms AND started a flight with the client, then he's shown twice. Hi all, Again another question that has probably been asked but here goes..... I have managed to setup and use kACARS and it works well until you start FSnav that is another problem. but here is the one i would like an answer too. Hello All, kACARS has been working fantastically up until the last few flights. Now when someone goes to file a pirep they are given a connection error. Interestingly the pirep still files on the main site but their bid is not removed from their bid list. All other parts of kACARS work correctly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help

Gday When i attempt to login to kACARs, i get !CONNECTION ERROR in the bottom right of the application, and this error: Notify System Administrator of the Switch error. Data not recieved Switch=verify some help would be great right now, i dont have a clue whats going on Cheers

Kacars seems to be working fine for most of my pilots but 1 guy having problems. He is on windows 7 64 bit his kacars 1.0.0.8 logs in but when he clicks get flight bid it returns no flight found. Tried to troubleshoot installed new version on site and module then switched back nothing worked. So tried for him to find flight by putting in flight number it worked but on live map his name didnt show but flight number showed and had like 10 entries, and the pirep wasnt sent when flight ended. Hes using xacars right now but would prefer to have him on kacars.

I was wondering if in this new ACARS system, they ever included a function for stops. Basically stops are places where the plane stops in between its journey. For example it would be going from Gatwick airport to Schiphol airport, and stops in Brussels National, most of the times to pick up more passengers. Our airline has these kind of stops and for example XACARS does not accept them. In XACARS all it does is stop recording the flight after i landed at any airport which is not good! So if you could help me on this, it would be great.

Hi all, After installing the latest release of phpvms, Version 2.1.946, I got this error message in kACARS: Call to undefined function iconv() ... (see attatchment). I'm using php version 5.2.9 before update of phpvms following was used in kACARS_Free.php: $rec_xml = trim(utf8_encode(file_get_contents('php://input'))); after update following was used in kACARS_Free.php: $rec_xml = trim(iconv($encoding, "UTF-8", $postText)); Anybody else having this problem? I fixed it by reinserting the line from an older kACARS_Free.php, $rec_xml = trim(utf8_encode(file_get_contents('php://input'))); /BR Benny

hey Jeff i have a wierd error atm when bidding on a flight kacars cant find it annymore so when a pilot make a bid opens kacars and then select get flight number info it returns no flights found. also the setting is not search by flight so it schould find the bidded flight gr joeri

A few days ago I used v1.0.0.8 and was able to retrieve the flight bid I had made, then I flew my inaugural flight. I now have 1.0.0.9 installed and on my VA site I made a bid for a flight. I have configured (and selected) this VA profile (my only profile). I am also able to log in to my VA ("Logged In" green label). However, when I press the "Get Flight Number Info" It gives me a red label "No Flight Info Found" pressing it subsequently leaves the user with the same red label, not knowing whether it is an old message or doing something :-( If I enter the flight number (complete) in the textbox then it is able to retrieve. So I finally got the time to go ahead and modify kACARS_Free. The following have been added -> Profile Support - You can now fly with multiple profiles once you have written the profiles -> Site Settings - Along with the new application comes a new module. Inside of this module there are three settings that can be changed by the site administrator that will control kACARS_Free a little bit. 1. FS time in the log or system time 2. Version of kACARS_Free that you are currently running on your VA 3. I am a kACARs newbie but certainly no new ACARS user, this ACARS application is certainly much simpler in what it does than the other one I have used. But that is beside the point, here are some of the problems I found during my first flight: Don't really know what the "Select Aircraft" accomplishes, how would it know which of the many a/c should it load? I mean, For example for this flight could have used my freeware (PAD) DHC6 instead of the Aerosoft DHC6. It forgets to clear out the red "Connection Error" from the status bar, thus leading the user to believe that there is still a problem. Obviously that when you run a VA where the sim pilots have to make flights according to preset schedules, you want to enforce at least two things: a) That when necessary (some VAs allow you to use any a/c) the route is flown with THAT specific aircraft type, i.e. C208, B737, etc. Irrespective of livery of course. That if the schedule says departure time is 17:00 local time the ACARS checks during departure that the flight simulator TIME is set to around that specific time. Otherwise if the schedule calls for 21:00 and the pilot departs at 14:00 (daylight) then it would be incorrect to accept it. I was wondering if kACARS checks those things or at least pr…

Hi Just a suggestion: I think it would would make the timestamps more useful if kACARS used either FS local time or UTC system time for flight phase logging instead of using local system time. Thanks

Hello I posted this here but it seems it's more likely to get seen in this forum. If this is considered a double post, sorry. kACARS is a really neat and user-friendly ACARS application but I have one problem with it. It records the boarding time (i.e. the time before pushback is started) as the actual departure time (labeled "Act Depart Time" in the UI). This can skew your block times making them longer - for which your Virtual Airline my penalize you. This isn't much of a problem if you only start kACARS at the time you are ready for pushback. But strictly speaking I don't think this is correct behavior since departure time is normally the time pushback begins i.e. bl…

Hey, When i am flying, and sometimes in the middle of my flight, the kACARS is gone. Like i never ever closed out the program. when i landed and, i was looking over the place in my computer and saying where the heck is kACARS running, and i could not find it. It's been like that since my last three flights and i had to manualy file the pireps. I start kACARS, prepare it, then fly................. and gone................ It vanished without my permisson. what is going on?
