Hi all, Okay, the commitment is made, my own VA. I would like your advice as to how to become a more confident administrator and better operator. Should I study and learn: HTML, PHP and CSS? Will basic understanding of these programming languages help me to administer my VA? Any books, DVDs, video tutorials, that you suggest? Not even enough knowledge to even be called a Noob yet! Good morning, i am starting a small va mostly for myself has i could not find one i liked that offered the kind of flights i enjoy. Anyway i am prop below average at php but fine with html and css. The problem i am having is let say i make some small changes in the css to change the font size, so i make the change and upload the file however the changes i have made do not take effect then after waiting a while maybe 2 mins maybe 20 the changes take effect. In addition i added some flights to the database then went to view them to have a look at the formatting and they where not there. OK i installed phpvms at my other VA and got spambots registering as pilots lolIs there a way to stop this?Might need some extra security coding me thinks Dave

Hey I've got some emails from new pilots who are trying to register to my VA but they cannot complete the registration. They say that after they type in the reCaptcha and press the "Registration" button they rather than a successfully complete page, they get a refreshed same registration page they are on. This is has been unedited by me, so i don't know what the issue could be. Thanks

Hi there, I am running into a brick wall with some of the issues over schedules, and as a result, I have a few questions. 1. I disabled some of my schedules, but they still appear for some reason in the search results, any ideas? 2. Has anyone got any code or suggestions on how to do a thing where, once a user books a flight, it will ask him for a day to fly it on? With that, it will reject the booking if the flight isn't operating on that... date, and accept if it is. 3. What is the format for entering flight time into a .csv file? Is it HH:MM as in the admin panel? Cheers.

Hi, My schedule system at vDAL was recently reworked, but due to the large amount of schedules, it takes up to 20 seconds (for some pilots) to load the page, and i need to fix this. If anybody could help me out, that would be great, i have tried, but gotten nothing but fatal errors... thanks.

Hello, I'm creating a module where I would like a logged in pilot to view ONLY their info. I have based the module on the Roster module that has been referenced in the forums and tutorials (It's basically a copy of the Roster module showing extra columns that I added for different bank accounts). Is there a variable that returns the users id, like '$whoami' or '$myid'? Something that returns who is accessing the page so they only see their information. Hi Guys, I'm currently contemplating a module to "validate" pilots with a validation email. You know the drill: you sign up for something, you get an email and then you click on the link and you get validated. PHPvms currently doesn't support this - we only have the option to let everyone in or to manually validate people. So I thought this might be a good idea. All I have to do is set pilots to not be automatically validated and then to write a module which validates them when clicking on a link. Now, the question is, what to put in the link? I thought about the 'salt' field, which is unique for each user and also quite cryptic. Just putting a pilotid in the link w…

Hello, For some reason my "Open Bids" list stopped working, it shows no bids, when there are some in the admin center: http://www.msflights.net/pilots/phpvms/index.php/schedules This happened pretty much out of the blue....I have not changed anything on the site. Hi, My name is Ricardo Maigre, and I'm a CEO of Friends Virtual Airways. We have phpvms with randon flights active and working good now. But I get a litle problem. All pilots can do Bids on Bid already schudele Bids. Please how can I block new schudeles when pilots have schudeles to finish yet on randon flights. I have noticed today that my Roster page is not showing the full list. The first person showing up first is AKA132, and there are people infront of him including myself that are not listed. Any ideas whats causing this. Same problem on my Status Badge page.

Hi there, I discovered from the database that you can echo the date and the time of the last login from the phpvms_sessions table. I am not too experienced on PHP, and I am wondering how the $session_id variable works? Good night In my virtual airline, the pilots only are accepted after passed an examination. The examination module is in other web site. Pilots must register in this site, take the exam and if they do well, a staff member will add to phpvms site manually. I can do to make the option "Register" are only visible to staff memebers? I have decided to start my own VA. So far I have domain name, hosting by Fivedev all set up. Here's the problem: Can't seem to get it together. Is there some knowledgeable person who would be willing to get on TeamSpeak along with TeamViewer and help me finish my install and set up my VA? I am retired/disabeled so no money to spare. I have a sidebar section which is only visible when a pilot is logged in. I would also like this section show some user data. What code would I need to make it display the pilots name. Hi there, I want to save some space by inserting a METAR into a table, and with that in mind, it looks rather odd to have something like Current METAR: METAR: EGGP 131420Z 17006KT 7000 SCT025 SCT033 03/00 Q1021 How can I remove the bold METAR from the class? Where is it defined, does anyone know by any chance?
