pm'd Also, is it possible to assign news to a certain category and then have a code, to show news only from this category?
-
Hi All, I wondered as to whether it is possible to restrict certain news stories, to only logged in members, like add a drop down box to the add news saying viewable to: and the options would be, ALL, LOGGED IN. Thanks, Jordan

Emerald Virtual Airways - Only the Best.
BaRBeR replied to adampoconnor's topic in Virtual Airlines Discussion
I'm afraid you rather contradict your slogan of "only the best" with your 19 grammar mistakes and a modified version of the skin crystal which looks to be honest, not the best. -
Normally on the frontpage_main.tpl

No problems at all, any updates or progress on the site?

Yeah, I saw this a while back and I thought this was a little suspicious as it looked like the type of site you could buy on theme forest. This defiantly is not legit, I would recommend closing this thread as it could put the whole forum and the users of this template in jeopardy.

Planning to start my own VA. Need People.

And also, giving someone 2 days to reply is a bit disrespectful, something may have happened or may have been busy. Real life comes first. -
Yes, as previously stated, I do like different. By different I mean a unique looking skin rather than having a standard layout with a few boxes containing things like news. If I was you I would change the corners of the nav bar so they both match. And I am not slagging of your efforts, it is a good website especially for a newbie but as Tylor Eddie previously stated "I wouldn't open the site until you have everything setup the way you way you want, this is the most common mistake i see a lot of people do when they setup virtual airlines (myself included) because when you have a community established and go to make changes you disrupt operations and people get mad etc. And also having a half constructed site looks unprofessional. Its best to get it setup and be able to show what you can offer rather that what you intend to offer in the future, you'll be more appealing and also you'll have a test bed that even if you make a mistake adjusting the code you wont have a bunch of people down your throat as to why its not working... or setup a development site to test features before you add them to the site." And I certainly praise you for placing the site under maintenance until its completed. Finally, well done on your efforts, hope it goes when when its open :-)

you don't have very many schedules...

As Robb said, is it your own? As it looks like a template from an external site of which has been ported for phpVMS. Apologies in advance if it is your own...

Hi all, I would like to welcome you to the newest virtual airline on the net - Mon-va.co.uk. We do indeed simulate the real world operations of Monarch Airlines. Mon-va.co.uk was origionally founded in March of 2013 when I has the idea to open up this virtual airline. Shortly after I decided to gather a small staff team and started to code the website which you are navigating around today. After slow progress various staff members sadly had to be released, due to reasons the virtual airline does not wish to express to the public. However, shortly after I started to speak with our now Co-Founder and COO Orpheas Panayiotopoulos, he open a vitual airline called Ezy VA. We decided for the benefit of both virtual airlines that we would merge these airlines so Mon-va.co.uk had a full staff team and Orpheas was a Co-Founder, and I personally look forward to having many happy years working with our current crop of staff. Monarch are a real world airline of which are based within the UK at EGGW, EGBB, EGCC, EGKK and EGNX. We fly to various destinations within and out of Europe. So, we hope to cater for all of our pilot needs. Our current fleet is mainly the Airbus A321, A320, A330, A300 and the Boeing 757. Hopefully, the real world Monarch will soon expand this so we can expand our extensive fleet. We are now looking to create a virtual group of airlines between us and eventually become a virtual airline force within Europe. VISIT US HERE AT HTTP://WWW.MON-VA.CO.UK/EN Thanks, Barber.

The site looks okay, but why does the rounded corner on the left side differentiate to the one on the right? Other then that it looks okay but I like to see things looking different, kinda looks like the typical layout for a skin. Thanks, Jord.

I agree, why not try the gradient used in the logo on the tail for the rest of the colour. Also, they both just look a bit dull to me, nothing special and nothing different. But good start. Well done.

Good to know your website is up, it looks okay but on the side bar I would recommend putting a border around the the whole thing just to separate the boxes. But best of luck! -
Make them your self...? They are fairly easy to make.
-
Yeah, it is, if you want this piece of code add this in <?php MainController::Run('FrontBids', 'RecentFrontPage', 5); ?>

Well done!
