I was wondering, where do you find the best place to recruit pilots from? Back in the day we used MSN Zone. For every 20 pilots that registered, 1 would fly regularly. Now days since the demise of eSkyWorld and MSN Zone, it seems the only good place left it the big VAT. I am to the point now of getting ready to start to recruit and was just curious. I have 7 of us now, but all we have been doing is mainly testing. Any and all pointers are appreciated. Ray

Currently I'm on shared hosting and so far it is working fine but I know as my airline grows I may need to move over to a dedicated server. I'm asking any who have dedicated hosting plans what they would recommend. Thanks!

Hey Guys, If you have or plan on starting a VA based off of A real world airline, I strongly recommend http://www.theairdb.com/sub/Airlines.html Reason being because it has almost if not every airline in the world on their site. A quick inquiry to all of your - I'm introducing navdata into phpVMS, for routes, just mainly a cosmetic thing. But it's quite a bit of overhead, to be honest. Here's how I've worked it out - Navigation data - fixes, waypoints, etc are on the API server. On first "use" they'll be retrieved, and stored in your database, though I'll make it available for you to load completely, locally. The reason I did this was because it's over 200,000 rows - about 6mb worth of data. It's also indexed, so that brings it to maybe 12mb size - quite a bit. But again, I'll have the .sql dumps available for download, in case you do want to load all of it locally. It doesn't do anything excep…

Does any one else find importing schedules very very time consuming? Just a thought but if we all shared a csv export it would be a lot easier to browse through the file and make custom changes then import what we wanted on our local system. We could have a complete database of flights to choose from with out having to input every line. What are your thoughts?

I would just liek to through a couple of ideas in for development, the topics may have already been covered.. 1, Eco, Business and First Class seating. It woudl be good if we could deteremine how many seats are for each class in an aircraft and assigned different ticket prices. In the new ACARS system in develoment could we have a penalty system for poor flying in the sam eway FSPassengers does, speed limits below 10K Ft, heavy, landings, not using landing lights etc. I know this all takes coding, and I am no coder, but it was just a thought, as I said topics may have already been covered.

I have FSFK working very nicely, locally. The ACARS gauge is cool. I have my va-template in the correct directory, but need to know what I must do next to get it to work with phpVMS. I've looked at the other threads on fsfk, but haven't quite figured it out. Sorry, I'm having another dumb day.

My father just got an activation call pending 24-48 hours to the staging area for immediate deployment to port au prince in Haiti for reliaf work. My father is an EMPA here at ft. hood and will most likely end up managing a US hospital camp.. So urgent. I just hope he isnt there to long

Hey guys, Just pondering the thought today and was wondering if (in the future) you were planning on releasing a version that doesn't require FSPassengers/ACARS to file PIREPs? Just a general question.. I think that'd be a nice idea as I know lots of people don't like to use ACARs/Passengers and just like to file the flightplan using a form. Just wonderin'.. Happy New Year!!! I had no idea it had been so long since we last corresponded. If you are still interested in lending a hand and I sure hope that you are then I am almost ready to go. I have finished about 90% of the flight schedule. I have to wrap up just a couple of routes, create crew and equipment layover schedules and I will be done. I'm glad all the dam holiday stuff will be over here in a couple days and everything around my house can get back on track. Hi all! I am coding a custom ACARS program in C# for my va. The pilot login function will have the pilot enter their ID and password, then it will need to query a different Login.php (will be in the same folder, but named Login2.php). The different Login.php will need to simply take to ID and Password that is sent to it form the ACARS program, and send back to the program as true or false (basically, does the ID and password match up in the database, and does the pilot ID exsist). I need some help on what the new Login.php would need, as I have no experience with php. Can anyone post the php needed to perform a function like this? Also, if anyone knows what code is …
