What are you trying to do with it, Joeri? Themeforest.net has probably got the best selection of good themes, usually I'll start a project with one of their selection that does closest to what a client needs, if they're on a budget and can't afford a custom design. It saves a lot of development time on my part, so cuts the cost for them. It's also easier for someone like you with no WordPress experience as they usually come with documentation on how to customize it.

Nice shots. Are you around here tonight? I've been out with the cell that panned across the Kansas/Oklahoma border north of Bartlesville earlier this evening. Some good power, but not much rotation.

Searching for "live flight board" just pulls up this thread, well done you.

I enjoy Meteorology, I studied it as a pilot and now again at college, although my major is Computer Science. I live right in tornado alley, so I usually get to chase quite a bit and I too have a feeling this year could be pretty hectic. We didn't really have any cold temperatures over the winter and only had two days with an inch or two of snow!

Which one do you think should be done?

I see your point, perhaps its a language barrier issue, because I can't tell that from the post made. -

Why the heck are we going to un-confuse you? We're all VA owners here, so why we would we care what you decide to start? I'm not trying to be rude, I'm trying to be realistic. These threads serve no purpose in this forum as this forum is here to discuss phpVMS. You'd be better off going to AVSIM or FLightsim forums and starting a poll there, as there are likely to be a lot more votes from people that care. -
You could request a copy of a photo ID...not very user-friendly, but it'll weed out all but the hardcore fakers, haha.

I have to add, I'm digging the new forum look. I enjoy the same forum type over at AVSIM, REX, ORBX and other places, so this is a familiar place to be.

Sorry to hear that some @$$wipe decided to mess with a small hobby website, I truly hate things like that. You've never done anyone any harm and have provided, for free, one of the best addons to the VA "industry" ever made. So thank you so much for bringing it all back online, it would have been easy to just throw it away and not bother with it.

Why are you all so bloody negative? Let the guy peddle his product. If that business model works for him, then why not? Buyers will vote with their purse strings after all; just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it a poor product.

To add to that good idea of multiple prices, perhaps a couple of different cargo types where the name could be created by the administrator and the cost could be set by the admin? Should be simple variables, no?

Yup, the loophole I got in through is now closed, good job.

You need to create a .htaccess file and add: IndexIgnore * This site has some great info on what htaccess can do for you, including preventing people stealing your bandwidth by disabling hotlinking of images; banning IP addresses; setting the server's timezone; and much more. Most likely you will have one already, by default it is a hidden file in linux which you can tell because it starts with a dot and doesn't have a file extension, .htaccess. http://www.htaccess-guide.com/disable-directory-listings/ If you need any more help setting it up, let us know. Disabling directory listing helps stop potential hackers gain entry by reducing the things they find and therefore forcing them to either get lucky, or have more skill to get into things. The easier you make it, the more chance you'll get young idiots trying to mess around inside your site. So on that note, also be sure to make regular backups!

VA Base isn't phpVMS. For support for VABase, try their forum or support, http://www.vabase.com/contact.php .

Ada, a couple constructive advice for you that you might want to fix up. The z-index will fix the map, as said above. The entrance exam has a couple oddities: 1. It doesn't tell you what it is examining you against and you can't apply until you've passed it. For realism, you'd at least expect a link to an SOP manual for some of those questions (2,3,5,9,10). 2. You can apply without passing the entrance exam, so I'd suggest keeping it hidden until a member is approved, or hiding the apply link until a member has passed the exam (but how can you prove that person passed if they're not logged in?) 3. Why do you care whether potential members know who your CEO and FOD are? That alone would make me not want to join. 4. Transition altitude is not FL180, it is 18,000' MSL. Transition Level is also not FL180: it can be anywhere from FL175 to FL200 depending on the air pressure. 5. Your stats page has an incorrect math function, as the worst landing rate is better than your average (maybe the code has them backwards?): Worst Landing Rate --111.5 ft/min Average Landing Rate-551.696428571 ft/min Best Landing Rate19.2 ft/min You also might want to use PHP round(-551.694428571, 2); for that longer unrounded number, to get it back down to two decimals. 6. The forum needs a skin that makes it look like the website to round of your professional look. As you're using MyBB, that will be very simple as MyBB is amazing software. Take a look at these free themes: 1, 2, 3 that might suit your style. 7. Finally, and most importantly, lock your folder view down. I gained access to your backend by a couple URL hacks which I won't publish for security. And, turn your PHP error reporting down. It reported part of your database details in an error while I was "browsing." Again, please consider all this constructive advice, not criticism, your new website is very nice. I'd use mod_rewrite on the URLs to mask and beautify it, but it's looking good my friend.

Look at the code for the admin panel and you'll see and if else clause for admin and non-admin. Re-use that code.

More than welcome.

Unable to Upload PIREP's to the VACENTRAL server
tutmeister replied to PIAS2011's topic in General & Support
Everyone, as you see from the post by our moderator, they ARE going through, and Nabeel is working on it. So please have patience, we're all seeing the same issue, there is no reason to keep posting "me too" posts. I'm certain Nabeel will inform us when he has it fixed. -
You'll need to edit the aircraft.cfg for the 737_800. If you're burning twice as much as you should, halving it should fix it. So in it, change fuel_flow_scalar from 1 to 0.5; however, I've read that anywhere from 0.5 to 0.76 is the correct figure. Just mess with it and note your fuel burn over a couple of flights and edit accordingly. You'll soon have it set where it needs to be. <div><br></div><div>Also, you might want to try the freeware enhancements to the default 737-800 listed in <a href="http://forum.avsim.net/topic/258836-suggested-enhancements-to-improve-the-fsx-default-737ng/">this thread over at AVSIM.</a></div>

LOL, this is sounding like a popularity contest--"I've got, uhm, one million PIREPs waiting for export, Frau Farbissina!!"

There is such a thing called Skype, so you call cheap, or even better this thing called email....free!

Good point, didn't think of that.

The dropdown is loaded from the database, so it's loading by lowest ID. Try changing: echo "<option value=\"{$rank->rankid}\">{$rank->rank}</option>"; to: echo "<option value=\"{$rank->rank}\">{$rank->rank}</option>"; That will sort them alphabetically, not by the unique key from the database table.

Awesome, I have our site on a private git repo at github, so this will be great to integrate new addons.

Great, thanks. I like that it is easily extendable with our own fleet.
