Hi Jacob. this addon sounds great. Do you have it on a dev site or live? If on a dev only, do you have a test account setup? demo of this addon would be great. Just curious is all. Was thinking of checking this thing out for sure. I will most likely install it on my dev site for now until it is 1000% good to go. It does sound pretty cool so far.

Yeah man that is cool. I had that part under control. lol I was meaning that ti would pull the data right out of the database automatically. Manual updating every day would suck real bad. I guess it would need to run as a cron job and query the database and insert info automagically But yeah that is pretty dam nice. The site looks great.

Sweet

Yeah it would be kind of cool actually. I know how to use the html but I am not good at anything database related. And for the most part, this one would be cron/database driven..... So I'm guessing

Has anyone ever made a marquee for phpVMS that automatically pulls data from the database? Say for example, I hit my mark and gain a new rank. It would add it to todays marquee and say Congrats TAV0001 for recent promotion to Captain..............Happy 45th Birthday Oscar the Grouch........Congrats TAV0001 on your 1 year anniversay I used to belong to a va ( Livewire Airlines) that actually has something like that. I enquired about it once and they told me in simple words that it runs a cron or something of the such and querys the database for new updated info that is preset and inserts it when necessary. It would NOT need to pull every single little detail. Simply Ranks, Bdays, website anniversarys, and stuff like that. It would NOT need to insert the fact that a pirep was just filed or anything like that. We allready have all that info available from page. To add it to the marquee would just be redundant. Just a thought about a nifty addon. Ray

Oh ok. I'll go back and do some reading. Thanks Simpilot **EDIT** Man I really need to learn how to read threads before I post. That fix worked. Thanks again Simpilot.

Ok I got it all working great except for the following. When I go to delete a message that is in the sent messages folder, I get the following Notice: The template file "/home/xxxxxx/public_html/thunderva//core/templates/mail_deleted.tpl" doesn't exist in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/thunderva/core/classes/TemplateSet.class.php on line 227 Obviously the x's are there for security purpose. They are not part of the real url. Now the first thing I did was make sure I did not skip a file on upload. Infact, I did not. That file it is calling for, is not even a part of the Airmail 2 download. I have dloaded the file 2 times to make sure I did not get a corrupt dload and both times that file was not there. Other then that, airmail is great.

Would clearing out the sessions table work? I have 3 guys including me on my site set to get in admin and 1 of them could not get in admin until I cleared that table out.
-
All I did was change the status to closed. I want to add an image in there that I have and it will say Sorry Exam Center is under construction. Please check back soon it is a cool pic of Homer and Bart.
-
Say I go in the Exam admin and close the exam center down. When one clicks the Exam Center link in the nav, it takes them to a page that says sorry exam center is closed. Can you tell me what tpl file that is please? I edited it once before and am wanting to edit it yet again and I for the life of me can not find where I edited that at. :-[ I have looked and looked to the point of me needing to walk away and enjoy a home brew then come back to it. ;D

Ok on the css and I can do you one better on the link. I'll give you a test login so you can see it first hand what I did so far. Give me about an hour or so to get it done. I am fixing to go and clean the baby up and all that good kid stuff we all have to do these days. I'll PM you the login details here in a bit. Ray

Ok sounds good. I am still on 869. Hadn't had a chance to try the latest out yet. Was gonna throw it up on my dev site today and give it a run through.

Yeah Nabeel, I can not vouch for FS Passengers. I do have it, but I haven't used it in a coons age it seems. That would be cool if it would over ride the users entry and force it's own and yeah, I edit them accordingly before they get accepted for now.

I'm back on this again while working on my Dev site. Is it possible to move the css info that is in the tpl files to our style sheet? Well anything is possible if one can code. lol I should say, will it jack anything up if I attempt this? And it is safe to say, I can drop the tpl files in my skin folder? And I modified the forum topics list tpl file to show the avatar of the user who LAST posted in the thread and to show the avatar of the user who originally posted in the thread. It is pulling the generic no avatar guy instead of the real avatar that I have set in my profile. Any clue why this would be happening? I understand it is in beta, I am just simply working on a few mods/hacks for it so when you release it, I might be ahead of the game as far as addons and hacks go for your forum.

Oh a kudos link is always possible. You guys that write these addons deserve credit where it is due. And thanks

I love the idea for download from the table. I was going to do that tonight when I doctored mine up but I got antsy to do a flight.
-
Same here Nabeel. I was just going to mention that about FSFK. I did a 900 something nm flight tonight and from engine start up to engine shut down, it listed me enroute at 7000.6 miles to go. Time remaining in the flight was spot on. I can not verify Xacars or ACARS. I have not used them since I got my FSFK running properly.

Pilot Ranks and Aircraft usage restrictions?
TAV1702 replied to AustinWilliams's topic in Support Forum
Very good point, but it don't stop them from dloading that type of aircraft somewhere and using it. This is a cool idea if it was optional to use on a va site. I just think as nabeel has pointed out, there are many ways around the code. -
Thanks for this hack. It works great. On my site, I have not used V2 of this yet with the thumbnail images, am still using the original. Here is a peak at how I have mine looking. I borrowed some code from Nabbel's Downloads list from the admin area and used it on the fleet table. It worked out great. http://thunderva.com/index.php/fleet

Is it cool if we remove the copyright from the block as long as we give kudos for the work and a link back to you somewhere on site? Like in the footer for example? I am not a copyright remover and I never lay claim to anything that is not mine. I am strictly thinking asthetics here. I was actually pondering creating a page on my site that was nothing but links back to those authors work i have used on my site. Like a mods database for a phpBB forum. Just asking before I did it.

Ok Nabeel thx for the info. I'll have my one and only xacars user update his and give it a try.

Hello again all! Hope everyone is having a great night/flight. I have been using FSFK since phpVMS was letting us use it. I cant help but notice that you MUST put in passengers load or cargo load.... or so I think. I did one flight and did not enter passengers OR cargo. When I submitted the flight, it said the flight was a loss due to all fuel cost and no income at all. Hmmmmmm So then I loaded up a flight and then entered the max allowable passengers for that flight and tah dah! it worked. Now on to the issue at hand. When filing a pirep manually, phpVMS will auto fill cargo or passengers depending on the flight type. that is not so with FSFK. I just did a flight and put in 139 pax and when the pirep came through, it paid for 139 pax. Realistically, no flight is going to be sold out every single time as Nabeel has pointed out before thus the need for phpVMS to figure it between 65-70% Is it not kind of cheating the system if one puts in max load of pax or cargo every single flight? We all can tell our pilots until we are blue in the face, NOT to do it and it is going to happen anyhow. I'm curious if there is a way to have it so that phpVMS overrides user settings for pax and cargo numbers in fsfk, ACARS, and Xacars and inserts the amount randomly like it does for manual pireps. Thoughts? Concerns? Complaints? Donations? ;D Just my 2 cents worth for today. And so far I am really loving FSFK now that I got it figured out.

I actually think something like breadcrumbs would be great in the admin panel at least. I know how to create and use breadcrumbs when adding pages to a cms/forum, but not sure how it would work in phpVMS

Nice job! I was thinking of a good way to incorporate something like this into my site.
