Greetings all, As many of you know VATSIM is a huge network filled with lots of great controllers and Pilots who love the hobby of Flight Sim. Well most of you don't know is there is an equivalent type of server like VATSIM called Boston Virtual ATC (link http://www.bostonvirtualatc.com) so check it out it is really great during off peak hours and peak hours. During BVA events we could see roughly the same amount of traffic as VATSIM. So take a look at the link If you decided to join in the comment or remarks section please say that CEO -Skylar Richardson from Boston Express VA told me about BVA(just will make our new va a little better). So just to get that out of the …

Hello everyone! Finally, after many many hours of work on both our website, schedules and repaints, we are finally ready to open up Braathens Virtual to the public. Here you will find correct schedules, with correct flight numbers, departure and arrival times, and aircraft types. We have the complete fleet of Braathens painted on PMDG's 737-700, and -600 (Simulates the 737-500). We are aware that there are some minor repaint mistakes on the tail on the 737-700, that will be taken care of. You might also notice that there are as of yet no freeware aircraft available, there will be shortly, so no need to worry. As of right now, we are using kACARS_Free for our flight …

Sorry if this has been asked previously. Is there a Virtual British Airways that uses phpVMS? I search google and I can really only find 3 virtual British Airways. 1 uses simmiles which I'm not sure about, the other 2 do not use phpvms AND are full. 1 of them requires a credit card to even apply, when they are accepting applications. The other is accepting applications but has 180+ applications in for 21 openings. Are there any others out there that want pilots? Don't require a credit card, and you have a realistic shot at flying for? Thanks.

Hey everyone, I would like to invite everyone to join me when British Atlantic Virtual Airline Re-Launches July 1st. British Atlantic is a professional virtual airline operating from London Heathrow to a range of world wide destinations. We operate a mainly Airbus based fleet, however still operate some of our legacy Boeing fleet (which is due to be replaced soon). British Atlantic has been open since May 2009, however recently it was decided to completely overhaul the airline with a new website and better marketing to attract more members. Will publish more info soon as we get closer to launch. We are a proud Global One Member http://globalonealliance.com.

Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right place. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice about call signs and aircraft registrations. My friend and I are currently in the process of setting up a virtual airline for which we have come up with a name and are currently in the process of building a website. However there was one small detail we have missed which is the call signs and also the aircraft reg to be displayed on the aircraft. So what I am asking is, What is the general accepted format for both call signs and aircraft registrations? Thanks in advance for your help.

The Sun has risen in the north, and the warm weather is melting the ice and snow in Northern Canada. This warm weather has also melted the ice roads leading to the mines of Northern Canada. This means no more trucks and until next November, so until then, everything has to come and go by air. This month we are packing up the Canadian Xpress® Boeing 737-200F which is available to all pilots regardless of rank, but only for this challenge and heading north out of Edmonton (CYEG) for the gold mine at Lupin (CYWO). Once fully unloaded, you’ll jump over to Yellowknife (CYZF). There are no fuel facilities at Lupin, so you will need to plan your fuel wisely. You need to fly…

First Place: 25 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly larger, more challenging aircraft) and the Monthly Challenge Award added to his/her name in the Pilot Roster: In addition, any Download product from: http://www.aerosoft.com/ Second Place: 15 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ranks faster in order to fly …

This month’s challenge is an easy passenger run this month. No VFR cross-country flying, picking up equipment in fog and snow storms, just an 80% passenger load from Toronto (CYYZ) to Halifax (CYHZ). But... For the February Challenge you can only fly an aircraft that is in your rank. What's this mean? If you are Captain rated, you can only use an aircraft from the Captain level, nothing higher and nothing lower. Same goes for all the ranks, only the aircraft listed in your rank, based on the Canadian Xpress® website, ranking system. This levels the playing field for those who have been around for years and can land a small aircraft at -100 any day of the week,…

It’s a new year here at Canadian Xpress® and as normal we are busier than ever. This month we have been contracted out by the Ministry of the Environment to perform aerial surveys and to pick up research equipment from around Algonquin Park. Leaving Ottawa you will have 4 aerial surveyors and their equipment on board and at each stop along the way you will pick up 500lbs of research equipment. Due to the size of these airports and limited services, fuel and overnight services are only available in North Bay. Join Canadian Xpress® today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won. First Place: 25 bonus flight hours (enables you to climb the ran…

Spring is upon the eastern seaboard and it is time to start thinking about opening up those summer homes & cottages. Now of course, we are not talking about our own. We are referring to those of the rich and famous. The contractors, property managers along with real estate agents and their clients have charted Canadian Xpress® to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Island. This month your job is to fly our clients round trip from Teterboro Airport to Martha’s Vineyard and then a round trip from Teterboro to Nantucket for a total of 4 flights to complete this challenge. Join Canadian Xpress® today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won. …

This month, we are going to change things up a bit. We are giving you a departure airport and you get to pick your destination. Sounds easy enough right, so what’s the challenge? The Challenge is to fly as far away from the departure airport as possible and land within VFR fuel reserve of 15 minutes. Starting at The Pitt Meadows airport (CYPK) and you are required to load the Canadian Xpress® DeHavilland Dash 6-Q300 (DHC6) with a copilot, yourself, and 50% fuel and head north east in to the BC interior. The DeHavilland Dash 6-Q300 is not a pressurized aircraft. Portable oxygen is available; however you can only stay on portable oxygen for a maximum of 15 minutes for …

This month’s challenge is to forget the FMC, forget looking out the window (other than to enjoy the scenery) and close the GPS and navigate via your aircraft’s instruments by dialing up a VOR and set course towards it & track NDBs. Your welcome to hand fly or use the autopilot to track the radios, but the challenge here is to manually set the radios. Don’t let the GPS or flight planning software run the show. A tutorial on how to navigate VORs is available by clicking the Navigating VORs link via the Training menu on our web site. Starting at Daytona Beach (KDAB), you will navigate down the east coast of Florida making your way to in to the Key’s and landing…

Just a few weeks ago the 34th America’s Cup conclude in San Francisco. Oracle Team USA (skippered by a New Zealander) successfully defended all challengers to keep the cup on US soil for 4 more years. However, their challenger Team New Zealand, a team with less than a third of the operating budget of Team USA, took the US team to task pushing the series to its maximum of 17 races. This month, your job is to fly the members of Team New Zealand home in style. From San Francisco (KSFO), you will load the 53 members of Team New Zealand on board the Canadian Xpress® Concorde which are available to all pilots regardless of rank, but only for the challenge for the return tri…

The Milk Run is the bread and butter of a flight schedule for an airline. Solid standard routes are usually guaranteed contracts that always make money. These routes are the back bone of an airline and their profits is what helps keep the low income flights operating. One of Canadian Xpress’ milk run flights is a twice daily cargo flight from Los Angeles to Toronto and is this month's challenge. Starting at Los Angeles (KLAX) load up your choice of Canadian Xpress® Cargo Aircraft which are available to all pilots regardless of rank, but only for this challenge at 80%-95% max takeoff weight (fuel and cargo) and head for Toronto (CYYZ). Join Canadian Xpress® today in…
