I am in the process of completing my new virtual airline, with the backbone of it being phpVMS. I have created a website, forum, media gallery, voice server, fleet and schedules well enough to be up and running. I will be adding to the fleet and schedules as time allows. My plans also include additional website features too Anyways, I am on the lookout for anyone who wants to get involved in my airline in a management capacity. I would prefer finding people who have previous VA management experience, and whoever joins my team will get a real say in how the airline is run. Hello again all! Hope everyone is having a great night/flight. I have been using FSFK since phpVMS was letting us use it. I cant help but notice that you MUST put in passengers load or cargo load.... or so I think. I did one flight and did not enter passengers OR cargo. When I submitted the flight, it said the flight was a loss due to all fuel cost and no income at all. Hmmmmmm So then I loaded up a flight and then entered the max allowable passengers for that flight and tah dah! it worked. Now on to the issue at hand. When filing a pirep manually, phpVMS will auto fill cargo or passengers depending on the flight type. that is not so with FSFK. I just did a flight and…

Because of my incident, I haven't been able to work on the site very fast, And my staff team could not understand that, So they said they are going to kick me out. So i denied that and they are starting up their own SimUAL, Any know I own the content and the site. So they said they can steal all the content and site the any know i'm the creator. I noticed that there is an embedded METAR in the pilot brief page, and would like to be able to do this on another website (i.e. not phpVMS), but I can't find the code to do it. How is it embedded, and does it use PHP or JavaScript?

I was wondering, where do you find the best place to recruit pilots from? Back in the day we used MSN Zone. For every 20 pilots that registered, 1 would fly regularly. Now days since the demise of eSkyWorld and MSN Zone, it seems the only good place left it the big VAT. I am to the point now of getting ready to start to recruit and was just curious. I have 7 of us now, but all we have been doing is mainly testing. Any and all pointers are appreciated. Ray

Hey Guys, If you have or plan on starting a VA based off of A real world airline, I strongly recommend http://www.theairdb.com/sub/Airlines.html Reason being because it has almost if not every airline in the world on their site. A quick inquiry to all of your - I'm introducing navdata into phpVMS, for routes, just mainly a cosmetic thing. But it's quite a bit of overhead, to be honest. Here's how I've worked it out - Navigation data - fixes, waypoints, etc are on the API server. On first "use" they'll be retrieved, and stored in your database, though I'll make it available for you to load completely, locally. The reason I did this was because it's over 200,000 rows - about 6mb worth of data. It's also indexed, so that brings it to maybe 12mb size - quite a bit. But again, I'll have the .sql dumps available for download, in case you do want to load all of it locally. It doesn't do anything excep…

Does any one else find importing schedules very very time consuming? Just a thought but if we all shared a csv export it would be a lot easier to browse through the file and make custom changes then import what we wanted on our local system. We could have a complete database of flights to choose from with out having to input every line. What are your thoughts?

I would just liek to through a couple of ideas in for development, the topics may have already been covered.. 1, Eco, Business and First Class seating. It woudl be good if we could deteremine how many seats are for each class in an aircraft and assigned different ticket prices. In the new ACARS system in develoment could we have a penalty system for poor flying in the sam eway FSPassengers does, speed limits below 10K Ft, heavy, landings, not using landing lights etc. I know this all takes coding, and I am no coder, but it was just a thought, as I said topics may have already been covered.

I've got a couple Pm's and quite a few messages in forum reply's asking how to code acars. Just out of curiosity, Who wants to know how. I just want to know. If their are a few of you who do I will. Just reply saying yes and what you wanna know how to code and i will try to include it in the tutorial. I have FSFK working very nicely, locally. The ACARS gauge is cool. I have my va-template in the correct directory, but need to know what I must do next to get it to work with phpVMS. I've looked at the other threads on fsfk, but haven't quite figured it out. Sorry, I'm having another dumb day.

My father just got an activation call pending 24-48 hours to the staging area for immediate deployment to port au prince in Haiti for reliaf work. My father is an EMPA here at ft. hood and will most likely end up managing a US hospital camp.. So urgent. I just hope he isnt there to long
