Hi Guys, I have a question about the "mod_rewrite" in phpVMS. I'm not sure if I can call it exactly that, because I know that Apache's mod_rewrite makes site.com/page/cookies refer to site.com/index.php?page=cookies I was wondering how the URL system in phpVMS works such that i.e. www.site.com/index.php/pilots refers to www.site.com/core/modules/pilots/pilots.php Furthermore is there a way to manipulate this such that i.e. www.site.com/pilots has the same effect as www.site.com/index.php/pilots Cheers, Nout

I've seen a lot of cool stats listed on peoples sites but I can't figure out what code to put in do to what. I'm sure there is a list of what does what somewhere in the docs but I can't seem to figure out what is what. Heck, I don't even know how to link the contact module so I can have a contact form. Any help would be appreciated. BTW, I'm a network engineer so working with code is not really my thing. :-)

NVAA Now has a test bed for their new FLS with a direct phpVMS export going. At this point, it simply adds flights to an empty database. Hey guys, I've just dropped phpVMS onto my webserver after having a few issues with vabase! :- It seems this software is much more robust and has a much nicer cleaner feel to it... so I'm impressed LOL I need some advice/assistance on modding the system to cater more for a new VA project im working on. I want to be able to achieve the following things: 1. Switch the emphesis from Civillian to Military Flying, things like Hubs becoming Stations/Bases for instance. This seems easy enough on a basic level but im not sure how far into the system i need to go to ensure all references are changed. 2. I post this here since it doesnt suite in support board at least in my opinion is it possible to add money to a VA via MySQL database since I find it bit unrealistic to start 0 v$ or 0 v€ does that make sense? Best Regards Thomas

I stumbled accross this automatic backup script for cPanel users who have access to Cron Jobs. I use it to back up my phpVMS site. Hope somebody finds it useful! Was digging through VA Central and was looking at most of the VA websites that are a member there. I must admit, I was quite impressed by what I saw. VA websites have come a long way since I first started simming WAYYYYYYY back when. All of the sites I saw were great! Makes mine look very very bad. :-[ Maybe one of these days I will be able to afford to have a skin made for me. My skills are so dam weak it is not funny. I own a virtual airline (Historic Airline Group). I want to bring FSACARS to our airline, as well as bringing some sort of flight selector for pilots to use and an improved way to submit pireps. Right now we do it the old fashioned way: I get an email and post it by hand to the web site. Time to move into the 21st century! Problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing. I downloaded all the phpVMS & FSACARS material. I then opened up "phpvms For Dummies" and tried getting started. Took about two hours to realize I am in way over my head. Hi, It may sound cool, or not. Here is what I had in mind. For Flight that have been bidded on, and flights that are currently in progress, We should have a feature like Flight Aware. Where we can enter the flight's callsign, dep, or arrival airport and see all the flights. It will show all info about the flight, and have its current location on a google map. I think this would be a killer idea and moudule to incorporate to phpvms. Please let me know if this could be possible.

If you know how to fix this, please let me know.... With Windows 7 and my server is local like this "myserver.local". When i am running windows 7 ulmiate and when i was adding the domain to it with locally and it said.......... An Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) for the domain "KYLE75675.local" could not be contacted. Ensure that the domain is typed correctly. What is wrong. My server is connected and on and running to the router and my computer is running to the router too. How can i fix this? Thanks

Messing around with a test install v.934. The only extra thing added is VA Forum 2. Having issues adding airports today. Can add one then instead of clicking the link to add another, I have to literally click on add new airports then click add airport. If not, then when I go to look up info it sticks and fetches no airport info what so ever. Not a bug I am quite sure so am posting here just a general inquiry if anyone else is having issues today.

Anyone using phpbb3 having problems with signatures. New members after my last phpbb3 update are getting an error when adding a image to their signature. It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image I was going to convert to SMF, their converter is buggy and wont convert images and passwords. So I am going to try to work this out.

Hi. I'm working on creating and putting into a database all the routes for my VA. But I was wondering, how can I find out the distance from one airport to another? Simroutes doesn't have all the routes I have so I don't know what to do for those routes. Is there a formula I can use in excel? Or a better website than simroutes? Thanks.

I've never been that much into the financial stuff of a VA, but it occurs to me there is one form of expense we don't have. One that is a percent of the gross revenue...for taxes and the like. I'm not sure, but I don't think it would be a major coding problem.
