Ok recently I have come once again upon the flying tigers group. If you arent familiar with them they create and run simulated real world airlines such as cathay, JAL etc. Now the only difference that I have seen between their sites and other simulated real world airlines is a notice at the bottom ( For Flight Simulation purposes only. Not a commercial site. Not affiliated or endorsed by any airline. 2002-2009 Name VA - All rights reserved). Now I have contacted a few airlines in the past about using their name ( some that the flying tigers have) and they said that using their name is prohibited and will result ina cease and desist. Happy New Year!!! I had no idea it had been so long since we last corresponded. If you are still interested in lending a hand and I sure hope that you are then I am almost ready to go. I have finished about 90% of the flight schedule. I have to wrap up just a couple of routes, create crew and equipment layover schedules and I will be done. I am thinking mid January tops before all is done. If you wish I will be happy to send you the 90% so you can see what id done. I would like to know is there a way to block proxy sites from web servers? As I have a guy that keeps trying to register, and is using a proxy, as I have IP blocked him from the server, yet he keeps registering, and with a different IP each time.

Hello Nabeel I have 2 questions At this point i have about 700 flight schedules but here comes the question I have about 300 done flights But I want to refresh off all the flight schedules on new year. Is this possible (read) will this affect any off the old pireps that have been send Example: Now TAY 256= ebbr-lfpg a flight has been done and stored in the pireps db After new year TAY 256= ebbr- eddw. I couldn't find this information anywhere, so I will ask here. DO I earn virtual currency when I fly for a VA using phpVMS? Does the VA I fly for earn money when I successfully complete flights? Do the VAs have to pay to maintain FBOs? Do the VAs have to pay for aircraft and the maintenance of those aircraft? If I do earn virtual currency, may I spend this virtual currency on virtual goods? If the answer to the majority of these questions are "yes", an active VA should hire me now, because I have been looking for something like what I think this is for a long time.

Hi everyone, I recently invested in some new servers at a completely different datacenter for my web hosting business. I am yet to fully test them so this is where I have an idea. I'm thinking of running a limited amount of free basic PHPVMS hosting plans to check their reliability. So I'm asking the PHPVMS community if it is worth doing and something that you might be interested in. Can you guys make a quick PHP script with this in it, and paste the output here. <?php echo(date_default_timezone_get()); I wonder how many hosts have properly set it up. It seems like I'm running into issues where the time is not being in the right timezone with some data I'm getting back to vaCentral. So I'll have to manually fix this... but I'm wondering if any hosts have this set properly in the first place. I'll manually do it...and I guess GMT is the aviation standard?

To whom it may concern. It has come to my attention that a gentleman that was on my old VA website "borrowed" some rank images from another airline who is a member of this website and he did not have permission. I am taking these ranks down tonight after school and I will replace them with new rank images that I DID get permission to use from the VA owner of another VA not affiliated with phpVMS. Hi guys, I know this is a bit broad but I was wondering how most of you VA owners configure your flight prices against your fuel prices. For example, this evening I did a flight from Stansted to Jersey and lost £8,000 due to fuel prices to that of the ticket prices. I ideally want to setup my VA to have realistic finances, I believe that the live fuel prices only work in the US and as my VA is only going to fly within the EU I assume that I cannot use the fuel prices so could someone recommend a good or semi realistic fuel price to setup in phpVMS. At the moment I left it as the automatic 5.10 but changed my fuel measurement to KG maybe this has something to do with …

Hey everyone, I think I am going to remove flight legs. Now since you can enter letters into the flight numbers, the leg's are kinda "obsolete", since you can just add it as part of the flight number. Also, FSACARS and FSPAX don't support it, so it's throwing things off with PIREPs and those finance calculations, and other 'future plans' which I have in mind. It just adds another layer of complexity, which is just giving me a big headache, and doesn't really serve a huge purpose (I don't think many of you are using legs) Just giving a heads up. Nabeel

I know this isn't quite related to phpvms, but as a new VA, I don't have tons of knowledge or resources for getting things done as of yet. So I'm asking the PHPVMS community if anyone knows of a good resource for making repaints for a VA. I have a few different A/C needing painted for my fleet. Cheap or free would be awesome. I have an example of what I would like done.

Are there any plans to make users that are less than admin, but more than standard users? The reason I ask, is because in the future, I would like to have my hub managers have access to approving new pilots and pireps, without having access to the entire admin pannel.

Hi. I'm working on creating and putting into a database all the routes for my VA. But I was wondering, how can I find out the distance from one airport to another? Simroutes doesn't have all the routes I have so I don't know what to do for those routes. Is there a formula I can use in excel? Or a better website than simroutes? Thanks.

Hey. During the last few months, I have been searching for a website which can return me a valid route for a flight through an api fom my virtual airline briefing page. I have found simBrief but the pilots of my virtual airline should have purchased the latest AIRAC. I do not have any problem purchasing them on my own and offering them to my pilots but the problem is that it is not allowed from SimBrief. I then found routefinder which offers a premium subscription but I do not know if you are allowed to "request" a route from it. Have you ever found anything which can let me do that? Thank you.

I just was looking at a few details on my site and doing some tweaking. I went and vied the details for a schedule and I clicked the links that says Click TO View NOTAMS. It goes to here https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/geo/icaoRadius.html?icao_id=KPIT&radius=2 That example is KPIT. Hey guys, as we are a business va we don't need a scheduling system in which you have to fill in a detailed departure and arrival time. Our pilots should be free in their choice of day and time. Is there any module which solves the problem that you have to fill in the date and time? All we need is a date on which the flight should at the latest be done. Hope you know what I mean! And is it possible that our pilots can create a schedule on their own, so that the pilots can book exactly the flights they wanna fly? Thanks!

Does any one else find importing schedules very very time consuming? Just a thought but if we all shared a csv export it would be a lot easier to browse through the file and make custom changes then import what we wanted on our local system. We could have a complete database of flights to choose from with out having to input every line. What are your thoughts?

Hi all. I read a while back that someone has on their site a live ACARS stats on their home page much like the newest pilot banner on top of the home page. I have searched and searched and can not find it. I think with old age setting in on me my search skills are starting to slip on me. To be exact, what this code did was give a list of everyone who is actively doing an ACARS flight on the VA website. Not Vatsim or IVAO or anything, it was just who is connected to your site via an acars device. Thanks for helping me in the right direction. And feel free to give me a virtual slap for slacking on the search skills.
