Hello, As I've discussed and floated a couple times on the VATSIM forum, I am starting a new virtual airline, called Torrent. *Torrent is a realism-focused virtual airline based of Flint, Michigan, KFNT. *Torrent is thematically based around a low-cost airline concept, flying packed 737s to metropolitan areas in the United States, as well as future overseas flights. *Torrent will not rank pilots based on hours, except to grant pilots who have logged numerous with Torrent a "senior pilot" title. *As part of Torrent's realism focus, Torrent will use realistic aircraft, ideally the PMDG 737-700NGX, or the iFly 737-700. Repaints will only be available for the PMDG(at lea…

The Montreal FIR and Moncton FIR are poised for what will be an epic crossfire event between the Montreal Trudeau International Airport (CYUL) and the Halifax Stanfield International Airport (CYHZ). As FIRs staff their respective airports from the ground up for this four hour event, all virtual airlines and pilots are invited to pick their favourite departure airport (CYHZ or CYUL) and fly to the other. Your pilot skill level doesn't matter! Your choice of aircraft is irrelevant! Your carrier of choice is up to you! Join the skies over Eastern Canada, challenge the skills of the controllers and score a point for your favourite departure airport!! Hope you see you on No…

I'm currently in the process of putting together a concept for what could loosely be called a virtual airline, and phpVMS is the chosen backbone for it. Basically, the idea is that there is a club, where people can register as prospective members (prospects), and take part in an around the world flight challenge. The challenge comprises of 147 flights, taking in 80 countries around the world, with a variety of approaches, landing surfaces and environments. The idea is to get of the beaten track, and visit some of the less well known locations around the world. There is only one aircraft available for the flights, a Mooney Bravo. I may reconsider this though, and offer a c…

Hello, I am on the brink of putting my new va to the public. Link: www.citylink-va.com. The purpose of this VA, is not to connect the the larger airports. So some kind of Bushpiloting in Western Europe, as far as you can find a bush ;-) And it is not even my idea to use the more standard planes that are being used by the most VA's. There for I am thinking small, like the Cessna Caravan, Beech 1900 Maybe an ATR. Even though this is my idea, I am also planning to have flights, done with B737 or A320, to more well known airports. Considering the home base (ehbk/mst/maastricht Aachen airport) with a 8000 feet runway, the maximum plane I could use there would be a B752. …

Hello folks, Recently I have completed building a new virtual airline: skybluevirtual.com/en , but realized that I don't have as much time to invest in as I did previously, due to recent mass projects. Therefore I would like to offer the CEO title to one very dedicated person. Currently the virtual airline operates 5 variants of aircrafts with over 2600 schedules. The virtual airline's website is completely built along with 60% of the liveries created. Everything is setup, along with complete hosting, a custom acars system, facebook page, and a teamspeak server. I am basically offering the ceo position which does include cPanel, but includes complete control of the oper…

Atlantic International Virtual Airlines announces plan to convert to a legacy virtual airline during 2013. A letter to its members from the Chief Executive Officer, indicated due to a steady declining of the flight simulation/virtual airlines community, it would make sense to compete with other legacy virtual airlines. We will start discussing among our staff and members, said Michael DuPont, Chief Operations Officer. Once a decision is made on which airline that we will select and get official legal permission, we will start the development thereafter. Please continue to monitor our latest development by visiting our website at http://www.atlintlvirtual.org.

Our airline tanked in twenty four hours from mid-thirties ranking to 210. How is this possible when our activity rose in the past two weeks and we're closing in on ten thousand hours flown and have added routes, deleted deadwood pilots and accepted new active pilots? How is this possible and what can be done to repair this damage? This is very disheartening to see . . .

This month’s challenge is to forget the FMC, forget looking out the window (other than to enjoy the scenery) and close the GPS and navigate via your aircraft’s instruments by dialing up a VOR and set course towards it & track NDBs. Your welcome to hand fly or use the autopilot to track the radios, but the challenge here is to manually set the radios. Don’t let the GPS or flight planning software run the show. A tutorial on how to navigate VORs is available by clicking the Navigating VORs link via the Training menu on our web site. Starting at Daytona Beach (KDAB), you will navigate down the east coast of Florida making your way to in to the Key’s and landing…

Hello all, Moderators, if this is not in the appropriate forum area please move. Anyways have a question or asking your opinion for all VA CEO's on awarding pilots with flight awards. When you have a new pilot join that has transferable hours and you accept those hours do you award those new pilots with hourly flight awards automatically or do you award those pilots with the hourly awards they actually flew within your VA? We do count the transferable hours for the Pilots Rank when they join but again undecided on the best method for Pilot Awards. We know every VA does their own thing, but we are only seeking opinions. Thank you for your time and your opinions. Ron …

September 10th marked Alaska Adventures 5th year anniversary. We still have some of our original pilots that joined back in 2007. Alaska Adventures has filed over 9,700 PIREPS with over 14,000 flight hours. Alaska Adventures started with FSACARS and merged to phpVMS in late 2009. Alaska Adventures wouldn't have been around as long as it has without our pilots and everyone from the community here that gave me a helping hand. Thank you everyone, you are the best. Our original DHC-3 Otter Hopefully many years to come! http://www.flyaka.com/
